8 fresh jalapeños medium to large-sized 4 oz cream cheese softened 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese 1/4 cup bacon bits Your favorite BBQ rub or seasoning to taste 8 strips of bacon regular cut Toothpicks 2 per jalapeño, soaked in water for 10 minutes
Preheat your grill to medium heat or your oven to 400°F. If using an air fryer, preheat to 375°F.
Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. This step helps control the spice level.
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded white cheddar, bacon bits, and BBQ seasoning. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeño half.
Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with a strip of bacon. Secure with two toothpicks to hold everything in place.
Place the poppers on the grill, baking sheet, or air fryer basket.
Cook for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
Nutrition will vary depending on your BBQ rub, bacon brand, and bacon bits .
Using turkey bacon or reduced-fat cream cheese can lower fat and calories.
Removing more jalapeño seeds does not affect nutrition much but will reduce spice level.
